About Us

The Toby Center is a 501 (c) 3 and is the registered trade name for the Children's Rights Council of Connecticut, Inc., a non-profit corporation established in 2000.  The Toby Center is affiliated with the national Children's Rights Council (www.crckids.org) and is a child and family centered service organization.

In Spring, 2009, the Toby Center received a letter of support from the Florida Department of Alternative Dispute Resolution, State Judicial Department, Tallahassee for Toby Center's current research on Domestic Violence.

THE TOBY CENTER MISSION IS TO:

1)  Reduce the negative effects of divorce and parent separations on all family members and workplace employees;

2)  Improve outcomes for children so that they can continue to  thrive with both loving parents as well as grandparents and other extended family members through individual consultations and group classes;

3)  Train family professionals from different disciplines such as law, psychology, education, medicine, financial, human service agencies, public policy to offer more effective services and collaborations to improve child and parent outcomes.

4)  Follow parenting trends, examine current research on child outcomes, family law, crime rates, public health and public policy.

We are seeking to raise $28,000 for our continuing Domestic Violence research addressing perceptions and responses by family practitioners.

Supervised Visitation services cost families $55 per hour.  Please help us defray those expenses ($36,000 annually per location) so parents needn'd pay to see their children.
